Problem is very simple: SQL Advantage do not start from Sybase Central. When I do right-click on the server name and choose 'Open SQL Advantage' it shows me error box: - SQL Advantage - Internal failure while initializing SQL Advantage. Please check that Open Client is configured correctly. OK - and. What to check? Where to check?
ASE plug-in for Central: 12.5.4 File version of C: sql sqladv-125 sqladv.exe is: 11.5.1.3 (why is it 11?????) ASE version I am trying to work with is 12.5.0.3, but I do not think it is relevant here. Hi, It's basically telling you it can't find the Open Client libraries needed for sqladv.exe. Open up a cmd prompt and do a 'set', see what you've got for%SYBASE% and%SYBASEOCS%, if you haven't got either then that could be your problem, it'll look in your path for dlls needed (so check you've got C: sql OCS-125 dll in there). Do you have more than one client installed? If so, switch your%SYBASE% to be c: sql (and%SYBASEOCS% to be OCS-125) Cheers, Simon 'George Brink' wrote in message news:4702b054$1@forums-1-dub. It is located in c: sql bin. If I do batch file like this: path=c: sql bin;c: sql dll; sqladv.exe I am able to use the old one. Both environment variables are exaclty as you suggesting - SYBASE=C: sql and SYBASEOCS=OCS-125 But I can not find correct combination of PATH to start sqladv from C: sql sqladv-125 I always get a sybinit.err file with text: - The context allocation routine failed. The following problem caused the failure: Invalid context version.

大致的意思就是:之前安装过版本11.5.1.3和12.5.4的SQL Advantage ,每次“Open SQL Advantage”的时候,都会报错“Internal failure while initializing SQL Advantage. Hi, You should have a dll folder in OCS-125, and that should be in your path. So, c: sql OCS-125 dll should be ahead of the other two in your path.
It sounds like it's trying to use an old client install (when bin and dll used to be in the root of%SYBASE%). Cheers, Simon 'George Brink' wrote in message news:47039676$1@forums-1-dub. Yes, I have SQL Advantage from 11.5.1.3 (by main menu: Help-About).

Problem solved. Somehow, several DLLs from version 11 ended up in my%windows% system32 directory. And since this directory has a priority over PATH when it comes to DLL search. Now both versions works perfectly. 'Simon Ogden' wrote in message news:4703b779$1@forums-1-dub.
